Mohammed receives Egyptian football team
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum received members of Egypt's football team and Samir Zahir, the president of the Egyptian Football Association, at Zabeel Palace today in the presence of Dubai Deputy Ruler Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
Egypt won the 26th Africa Cup of Nations recently.
Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Egypt's President, government and people on their team's victory, saying that Arabs are capable of victory in all fields and that they could compete at the regional and international levels if they have the will and determination. He said that sports carries the message of peace and love and that Arab sportsmen carry this message wherever they compete. He said there were no limits to success and that we should continue to build on our success with confidence and determination.
Sheikh Mohammed concluded by saying that he was confident in the Egyptians' abilities and that he hoped they would get to the World Cup.
The team captain thanked Sheikh Mohammed and the UAE’s leaders, government and people for their support for young Arabs.
Several officials were present at the meeting.
